Multi-Media Universe
Visit the three worlds of Youth Service Project's Multi-Media Universe:
YSP's Tribase Recording Studio, YSP's Computer Technology Center
(CTC) and Hewlett Packard Digital Lab and the Universal Music and
Art Shop!
YSP's Tribase Recording Studio is designed as a training space for
youth skill development, musical experimentation and fun! The curriculum,
developed in partnership with Columbia College Chicago's Sound Department,
teaches youth about music appreciation, music business, and audio
production.
Created in partnership
with DePaul University's Egan Urban Center, the Community Technology
Center (CTC) provides young people with lots of exciting activities!
Young people work on graphic design projects using complex software
programs, and complete post-production work and create marketing
materials for studio projects. In addition, the CTC is the site
for YSP's accelerated e-Business program, an intensive program that
focuses on e-commerce, e-business and web development. Developed
in partnership with Hewlett Packard, the HP Digital Lab provides
young people the opportunity to learn about photography, technology
and community.
Music recorded in the
studio and art produced in the CTC and the HP Digital Lab will be
sold in YSP's Universal Music and Art Shop (UMAS) - a retail music
store that is more than just a place to buy CD's - it is also a
training ground for youth to learn about customer service, entrepreneurship
and business development.
